More Than Love was my first Mordançage series. Based on a late 19th-century etch-bleach process, Mordançage chemistry softens and lifts the darkest areas of a gelatin silver print, allowing me to manipulate and remove the emulsion. This creates a reciprocal connection: a dialogue between my intent and the living print’s response.

Working with a process rooted in unpredictability, surrender, and the relinquishing of control, I began to see parallels between the transformation of the image and my own: some parts remain, others wash away, allowing something new to emerge.

Looking back at this work, I see how much I have lost, and how often I have had to reinvent myself. This process has been a companion, and continues to help me heal, transform, and connect to something larger than myself.
